Understanding People, Transforming Communities

At СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s School of Social Sciences & Education, students explore the forces that shape human behavior, communities, and institutions — and put that knowledge into practice. Our programs prepare students to think critically, act ethically, and engage with society’s most pressing challenges.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Students apply their knowledge through internships with the City of Jacksonville — including placements at the county court and sheriff’s office — as well as research in our psychology laboratory and collaborative projects in the Joan Carver Student Resource and Study Center. Faculty mentorship and hands-on projects ensure students connect theory with meaningful practice in the community.
